Ok, so yeah I have been in Hawaii a whole year and it has been a intense lesson in humility. Honestly Iam very disappointed in much about Hawaii, but not more so then the People or the few fuck ups that have crossed my path. I dont know if it's just my bad luck or the personal basis of a lot of people who just want to do there part to make a Black Man fail. Since I have been here I have had a few crazy instances, but this one is the craziest, cause here's a so called Photographer who even consider that I pay him, but ask to get a chance at shooting models so me being the kind and helpful person I am said I will give you a chance. Now the following is the intro of how he presented himself to me..

I'm not a model, actually. I'm a photographer here on Oahu and was just wondering if you're also looking for new photographers to work with. I've been a photographer for over a decade, but mostly as a music photographer. Since I'm relatively inexperienced working with models, I'd be willing to do a few jobs for free (well...for signed releases allowing me to use the pics for self-promotion, at least). Hey Will, thanks for following up with the pics. I was hoping to maybe try to get a hold of the models before the shoot to look over and discuss their books/ports with them...just to help me come up with some ideas for the shoot. I've got a few concepts for shots in mind already, but I've found that meeting with clients before the shoot has always, without exception, resulted in a more successful shoot. I guess making that connection helps to develop a little chemistry, and that tends to make all the difference.

If you feel weird giving me the models' contact info before actually working together (being that we only just met last week via Creepslist haha), I totally understand and am not offended. But I know that meeting with the models, or at least chatting with them by phone or email, will make my shoot with them go more smoothly and productively.

At the very least, if you could even just pass along my website to them (or forward them this email) and let them know that I'd really like to connect with them before Sunday, I'd really appreciate that.

And then all I need is for you to just send a follow up email to me with the logistics of the shoot (address, parking info, schedule, names of who I'll be working with down there, etc). Okay man, I'm looking forward to this! See you Sunday!

I have some really bad news. I ended up deleting the pictures. My wife and I got into a huge fight over the shoot, and she just wanted me to have nothing to do with shooting models anymore. I'm kinda trippin out about it right now...I don't know what to say. It's my fault for not communicating with her more about it. To me it was just a photo shoot...nothing inappropriate ar whatever, but she doesn't see it that way. She didn't even want me sending the unedited images and then deleting them from my computer.

Anyways, I thought long and hard about it. As much as I care about my work and art (and my reputation), I care about her feelings more, so the pictures are gone.

I'm really sorry to waste your guys' time. Bentley, I really enjoyed working with you. You were the only actual "model" I worked with before, and you made it really easy for me. I hope that whatever other photographers you work with going forward are open to your ideas and not just doing what they want to do.

Good luck to both of you. Again, I am so sorry for flaking out on you like this.
